Hervé de GAUDEMAR holds a Juris Doctor degree from Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University, is an agrégé in public law, and holds the French bar admission degree (CAPA). After lecturing in Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University and Sciences-Po Paris, he was appointed in 2010 Professor at the Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University, where he was in particular elected dean of the law faculty in 2017.

He has authored a dissertation on the Inalienability of the public domain, a collection of the Major opinions of administrative case law and numerous articles published in collective publications, specialised journals, and legal encyclopaedias. Hervé is especially recognised as a public property law, land planning law, and public property development law specialist, and as an administrative litigation specialist. In this respect, since 2010, he has been supporting the firm in relation to cases requiring public law expertise. He has also contributed to several law firms: Freshfields Brukhaus Deringer (public business law department), Ashurst (property law department) and a law firm with the Conseil d’État and the Cour de Cassation.
